The WineSellar and Brasserie Retains MMC

One of San Diego’s leading restaurants and wine shops — The WineSellar and Brasserie — has retained Merrill Marketing/Communications (MMC) to direct a marketing public relations program. Twenty-five years ago, Gary Parker and his wife Lori, opened The WineSellar & Brasserie at its current location in the heart of Sorrento Mesa’s business district. The Parkers pioneered the concept of combining a fine wine shop, a state of the art wine storage facility, in which he used his architecture skills, and a highly regarded French restaurant, The Brasserie, under one roof. The restaurant’s acclaimed cuisine and a wine list of over 2,500 classic wines brought The WineSellar & Brasserie instant acclaim and notoriety. The WineSellar and Brasserie’s wine list has been recognized with the prestigious Wine Spectator “Grand Award” (one of the 75 best wine lists in the world) for a number of years. Parker also created The WineSellar Wine Club, features winemaker dinners and special wine and food events, leads worldwide wine tours, and added The Casual Side Bar to the ground floor of The WineSellar featuring wine by the glass, cocktails, craft beers and Happy Hour and Tapas menus. Parker is recognized as a a leading authority in fine wine, and is active as a spokesperson, UT San Diego column writer, appraiser, auctioneer, and panelist in the industry.
