MMC at Interbike 2010

I had a great time at Interbike 2010 this year in Las Vegas. I attended the Outdoor Demo West in Boulder City, NV with access to the Bootleg Canyon trail system (100 degrees, dusty and windy, but fun!), and then followed that up with two days at the indoor Interbike Expo (air conditioned, nice!). I was supporting clients Fallbrook Technologies, Inc. and their next generation NuVinci® N360 continuously variable planetary (CVP) transmission for bicycles; Ellsworth Handcrafted Bicycles; and KOOL ‘N FIT Sport, the World’s First Sports Performance Spray.

NuVinci attended Interbike and announced a number of fantastic developments for 2011, including the N360 now being available on an increasing number of bike models in the US, including the 2011 Ellsworth Enlightenment carbon crossover bike; the Breezer Uptown Infinity (the award-winning commuter bike three years running!) and the Organic Bikes Edwin Bamboo Town Bike. In addition, the N360 aftermarket kits are now available for dealers to upgrade their customers’ existing bikes’ drivetrain to the Smooth Revolution in shifting. Fred Pagles, my good friend and owner of Zion Cycles in Springdale, Utah (entrance of Zion National Park), was so impressed with the drive that he signed up to be a dealer. Fred has a big rental fleet of bikes that visitors use to ride up Zion Canyon. With NuVinci shifting is easy, smooth and uncomplicated.

Ellsworth Bikes kicked off their 20th anniversary at Interbike with a 2011 model lineup that includes the introduction of the new slope style bike, the Momentum, and the new Evolution 120mm travel 29er, and the new Rare Earth Carbon Enlightenment 26 firmtail crossover bike, featuring the revolutionary NuVinci® N360 drivetrain. Twenty years in the bike business is quite a feat. Hats off to Tony Ellsworth and his Ellsworth Bikes team!

KOOL ‘N FIT Sport, the world’s first sports performance spray, had a great turnout at the Ellsworth Booth at Outdoor Demo, with hundreds of industry insiders and media being sprayed with KNF before, during and after their demo bike ride. KNF Sport is externally applied (sprayed) on muscles prior to, during and after road or mountain bike riding or any sports activity, and mainly marketed through sports specialty stores to pro sports teams, elite athletes, weekend warriors, and general public to enhance warmup, improve athletic/riding performance and for faster recovery. KNF Sport has made major inroads of late to service endurance athletes including elite cyclists (road, cyclocross and mountain bikers), runners and triathletes. Last month they were at the Kauai Marathon spraying racers at various spray stations, and this month they will be at the Long Beach Marathon, doing the same.

Can’t wait until next year’s show, which will be moving from Las Vegas (another blow to their economy) to Anaheim, CA (a boom to the SoCal economy, and closer to home)
